Make Some Noise

We’re sure you’ve heard about the new Beastie Boys album Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 by now, due to drop on May 3. We’re sure you’ve also heard about their short film Fight for Your Right Revisited, loosely-based on the music video for the classic track ‘Fight for Your Right’. Featuring cameos by everyone in the whole world, it speaks for itself. Enjoy.

Say My Name

The internet’s best art blog Booooooom has started a side project called the Cover Song Archive which is where we uncovered this gem. The Cheapmunks, from what we gather, are two kind of cheesy/dorky/extremely talented Pakistani girls fusing an urban desi sound with classic pop. Can’t speak for the rest of their music but at least they look like babes.

Midnight Sun

To celebrate one whole year of this blog existing, we give you one of our favourite songs of all time. Since first discovering Henry Pedro via this awesome blog, we’ve been trying to track down the whole album Tender Loving. A friend sent it to us earlier this year after a long-distance-endurance-test search. If you want to hear it, email us.

Artist / Tyler, The Creator
Track / French
Remix / Toro Y Moi

French

Was trying really hard not to post about OFWGKTA because there’s enough of that everywhere right now, but this collab with Tyler and Chaz (Toro Y Moi) is worth it. We get that everyone is over-hyping the shit out of both these guys but whatever. Listen to this track and tell us it’s not good. And this is still making us laugh. #swag

Other Side

There’s a lot of other acts we wanted to post here this week; The Weeknd, Grimes, Houses… but we keep coming back to this simplistic, flawlessly crafted track from Family Portrait. Keep a look out for the band’s Julian Lynch-produced, self-titled debut LP which out next month. Underwater Peoples are really delivering the goods this year.
