Come With Me

Could have probably featured the new Arcade Fire, the new Klaxons or, if we’re talking hype, the new Kanye track (with lyrics including “I don’t need your pussy, bitch, I’m on my own dick”), but they’re all obvious choices. ceo is the new project from one-half of The Tough Alliance (who’s bio sounds like whoever wrote it just ate mushrooms) and ‘Come With Me’ is the lead track from White Magic (Modular).

Never Tear Us Apart

For the latest series of Record Club, Beck teamed up with members of Liars & St Vincent to cover the INXS cult classic album Kick. ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ is considered by many as Hutchence’s anthem (it was played as his coffin was carried out of the church by fellow INXS band mates), so trying to cover it was an ambitious undertaking but in this case totally worthwhile. Maybe not as good as this though.

A friend recently introduced me to this song (I know, where have I been..?) and a week later I saw a cover by TVOTR’s Kyp Malone over at Stereogum where he describes it as “a lot of people’s favourite Talking Heads song”. Technically this isn’t a remix but any track sampling Christian Bale’s infamous bitch rant is worth featuring. Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper team up to lay some rhymes over LCD Sounsystem’s ‘Dance Yrself Clean’. It’s not the first time Kid CuDi has messed with messed Murphy – his track ‘Can I Be’ adds the lyrics “pop that pussy hole” over LCD’s ‘Someone Great’ masterpiece.

Fans of Sweden’s jj will love (also Swedish) Taken By Trees, the solo project of Victoria Bergsman. This track featuring Noah Lennox (aka Panda Bear) is old (2009) but the remix by CFCF is new. Hear it now, as well as her sweet covers of Animal Collective’s ‘My [Girls] Boys’ and Guns n Roses ‘Sweet Child O Mine over at MySpace.
